Empire's Daring Set Design Steals The Show

FOX's new hit series "Empire" has transformed the way we spend our Wednesday nights. And has set a new track record doing it. The hip hop drama is the only TV show on prime time since 1991 to have accumulated such a large viewership within its first few episodes. On last night's episode, Jamal Lyon really let the cat out of the bag with his performance at the all-white party.

And as much as I love the drama week after week,  I anticpate more seeing the backdrop allure: The set design and artwork. From the Lyon's den to the Luscious layer where the grand piano and exquisite décor steal the show, it's clear the 'Empire' set designers know a thing or two about glamour. Whether it's Kehinde Wiley's contemporary, highly naturalistic portraits or the quaint, chic furnishings or stunning metallics in nearly every scene—I find myself at the edge of my seat and excited for more.
